Krause Springs, Spicewood Texas

As we already experienced from the newspaper, is 'Krause Springs' a natural swimming pool.

Different source rivers lead to a lake, which is approved for swimming. The environment is impressing. The water has a temperature of approximately 70 degrees Fahrenheit (about 21 degrees Celsius corresponds).

The source rivers reach the lake by means of water falls and also smaller rivers, which unite then in the lake. The water falls by the way brings real cool water into the lake!

The lake with its environment has a very romantically impression. I could imagine that the environment could serve well as background for any western films.

We spent about 2 hours in the swimming pool. It was worth somewhat the long travel time of about one hour!

Smaller rivers, which supply the water for the lake, are almost an ideal pool for infants. The water is not deep and rather warm. Only the fishes, which swim there, are somewhat completely new for some children. The only disadvantage we felt there is,  that there are no entrances to the lake. Like that it is rather slippery affair to climb over stones which are partial covered by plants and moos to get into the water.  There is a possibility to swim  in  an artificial pool,  people do not want to bath in the lake,
